I general, my high school experience has been a positive one. The amazing relationships I have with my peers and my teachers has made learning and coming to school way more fun. I would describe myself as a determined, hardworking person. Although I am not the most outgoing person, I can be a great leader and I interact well with people. I am part of National Honors Society and Class Cabinet. I am also the co-editor in chief of our yearbook staff and I am one of our student section leaders. I don't have many specific hobbies, but I enjoy everything I do and I love being as involved as I can.
My Project:
My capstone was a service project through my church, Fishinger and Kenny Church of Christ, called Project Giving. Project Giving is a youth-group run service project that provides a full Christmas dinner, Christmas presents for each family member, and a week's worth of groceries to families in need during the holiday season. We provide this for 6-7 families from our church or the community. For months before; money is raised, food is bought, and information on each family is gathered. The night before the actual event the youth-group bakes homemade cookies that will be given to each family. Lastly, the day of the actual event consists of groups going out to buy all the presents, and the Christmas meal being prepared and organized. I chose to lead this because it is such a rewarding feeling when you help out people in need. I have participated in this event for 4 years and have led it for 2 years. This project has been successful every year and is one of the main service projects our youth group accomplishes.
